TMS Solutions is proud to be active in treating depression in Fort Collins. The stigma of mental health is a struggle for most people and families. Many feel shame and are afraid or embarrassed about stepping out and asking for help. We at TMS Solutions understand these difficulties and want you to know that you are not alone in your struggle.
A recent Denver Public Health publication noted that one-in-eight (76,100) Denver residents are clinically depressed and most aren’t getting treatment. The impact of depression and not treating depression has many negative effects. Some of the effects are increased chronic health conditions, higher suicide rates, increased substance use, premature death, workplace complacency or job loss, all of which affect the general quality of life.
According to the publication:

Aaron Meng, MD, FAPA, graduated from The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He attended the Banner Good Samaritan General Psychiatry Residency Program in Phoenix, AZ, and then the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
He moved to Colorado for the Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of Colorado at Denver. After spending a couple of years in rural Maine, Dr. Meng, returned to Northern Colorado where he treats adults, teens, and children in a variety of treatment settings.
Dr. Meng first became interested in TMS when it received FDA approval for treating treatment-resistant depression. With each successive medication having less and less of a chance of triggering significant change, and with ECT -- although extremely effective -- so intrusive and requiring anesthesia, having a non-medication, effective approach is a huge benefit for patients.
When he is not working, Dr. Meng spends his time with his wife and two children, enjoying the outdoors of this beautiful state.
Karla has many years of experience working with people and truly enjoys seeing the improvements that TMS can make in the lives of our patients. She studied sociology at Colorado State University and has always been very interested in psychology, as well. Karla finds working as a technician at TMS Solutions very rewarding. She especially likes helping patients recognize their unique, personalized treatment goals, and finding ways to work toward them
