Dr. Sammons - Bob Dylan's Medical References

When asked why so many of his blog titles have a Bob Dylan reference, he smiles and said it is an inside joke as there have been 727 reference of Dylan’s work in biomedical literature since 1970. He attended his first Dylan concert in Atlanta in 1965 and he and his youngest daughter have been attending all Dylan concerts in Colorado since 1990. Although he saw Dylan in Greensboro, N.C., while working on his Ph.D. in Clinical psychology. His time as a university professor at East Carolina University, his four years of medical at the University of North Carolina (recent NCAA Men’s Basketball National Champions) And four years doing his residency and fellowship at the University of Virginia he had a hiatus. His interest in TMS preceded his interest in cooking on the professional BBQ circuit and he attended Alvero Pascual-Leone’s TMS course in 2006. Confirming Yogi Berra’s adage “Predictions are difficult, particularly involving the future,” Dr. Sammons anticipated TMS would be approved within months but was a little too anxious as it was two more years in 2008 when it received FDA approval. He has just returned from a wonderful week long course in Brain Stimulation with the Godfather of clinical TMS, Dr. Mark George.
