“”We’re excited to announce the involvement of Rocky Mountain TMS / TMS Solutions in a clinical study on Adolescent Depression using Transcranial Stimulation””, Christopher Blackburn said. With headquarters in Grand Junction, CO, TMS Solutions is in their third year actively treating adult patients, according to Dr. Robert Sammons, psychiatrist and co-founder. “”This is quite an honor to selected as part of the group of other prestigious hospitals, institutes and clinics taking part in this study, including the Mayo Clinic,the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Ohio State University and the University of Utah Neuropsychiatric Institute and Shephard Pratt to name a few””, Blackburn said.

In an April 11th Grand Junction Sentinel article entitled, “” Depression on trial: Six-week study will evaluate safety, effectiveness of treatments in adolescents with major disorder””,  by writer Gary Harmon , the author noted that “”Rocky Mountain TMS (Which also operates as TMS Solutions) is part of the clinical trial being conducted by Neuronetics Inc., which is conducting the study at the request of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.”” Neuronetics is the developer of the patented and FDA cleared Neurostar TMS Therapy?

Harmon goes on in his article to say that, “”the trial will evaluate the safety and efficacy of daily, active Neurostar? TMS treatments in adolescents meeting criteria for major depressive disorder.”” (Note: Currently TMS treatments are indicated for depression treatments, although the treatment has proven helpful with PTSD, anxiety, postpartum depression and tinnitus to date)

“”Rocky Mountain TMS, part of the Mesa Behavioral Medicine Clinic campus at 1400 N. Seventh St., offers transcranial magnetic stimulation, including a clinic for veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder. Dr. Bob Sammons, a psychiatrist who has practiced in Grand Junction since 1988, offers transcranial magnetic stimulation, in which the cells on the right side of the brain are stimulated into activity with a tiny electromagnetic pulse.””

Harmon quoted Dr. Sammons as saying, ??e get 40 percent remission among people with treatment-resistant depression, and 75 percent show a reduction in depression scores of 50 percent or more,??nbsp;
