TMS Solutions is excited to participate in the upcoming Brain Run in Denver, Colorado this weekend. Corporately we'll have eleven runners from our ten offices and two virtual runners. It is a rare privilege to live in the age of giants whose discoveries change forever the direction of your specialty field.  It is even a greater privilege to be educated by these great minds.  I had the privilege and honor of learning from Dr. B.F. Skinner in the early 70s as he changed my direction to behaviorism which I have practiced for the last 50 years.  In a similar way, Dr. Tony Barker, the inventor of transcranial magnetic stimulation, has changed the course of psychiatry by introducing it to neuromodulation, and in doing so, has certainly changed my focus over the last number of years.

What a wonderful opportunity to experience individuals who, truly, want to give back to the betterment of human life.  This last weekend Dr. Sammons and I had the privilege to participate in this amazing event.

Jerri Sher is a two-time Emmy Award-winning filmmaker who has just completed work on her latest documentary, Quiet Explosions. It addresses the issue of traumatic brain injury (TBI) across the spectrum of military members, athletes, and civilians.

The Mission Act: Making it Easier for Veterans to Receive TMS Therapy

In a June 4th email message from Acting Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert Wilkie, the Secretary announced exciting news that “things will be changing June 6th at the VA” due to the passage last year of the Mission Act.

Beginning June 6, 2019, “the Mission Act will enable VA to consolidate the Department’s community care efforts into a single, simple-to-use program that will empower Veterans with the ability to choose the healthcare providers they trust.” Congress’s bipartisan act should lead to better customer service for our nation’s heroes.
